The National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU) announces the LUKE Joint Call, implemented within the project "Ukraine's accession to the European Research Area – a platform for joint funding and capacity building to strengthen research and innovation cooperation (LUKE)" under the European Union's Horizon Europe Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
The call aims to develop sustainable long-term partnerships in research, development, and/or innovation between EU member states and associated countries, including Ukraine, which acts as the central partner country.
The joint call is implemented by 13 funding parties within the LUKE project and involves 11 countries. Its goal is to pool resources and support Ukraine's integration into the European Research Area.

- Project duration: up to 2 years
- Start of application submission: February 27, 2026
- Application deadline: May 15, 2026, 23:59 CET
(May 16, 2026, 00:59 EET) - Estimated project start: January – March 2027
- Estimated project completion: December 2028
Thematic areas of the call
The call covers four priority topics to strengthen Ukraine's capacity:
- energy
- cybersecurity
- medicine and healthcare
- social and humanitarian sciences
Conditions for Ukrainian participants
Projects supported by NRFU grants may be fundamental and/or applied scientific research (development) projects.
Ukrainian participants applying for NRFU grant support must comply with the NRFU National Rules regarding the eligibility of project authors, executors, and participants in the Call.
