
On January 27, 2026, at the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine (Kyiv, Volodymyrska St., 62, large reading room of the Manuscript Institute of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine), the exhibition "In the Light of the Torah: The Colorful World of Orthodox Jews Before the Times of Tribulation" will open, dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. During the event, scientists from the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and the Institute for Information Recording Problems of the NAS of Ukraine will present their results in preserving and digitizing the cultural heritage of the Jews of Ukraine.

Welcome remarks:
• General Director of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine, Liubov Dubrovina;
• Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Ukraine, His Excellency Antal Heizer;
• Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine, His Excellency Michael Brodsky;
• Representative of the Chief Rabbi of Kyiv (with greetings on behalf of the local Jewish religious leadership).

1. "Treasures of Jewish Culture in Ukraine": a joint project of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and the Institute for Information Recording Problems of the NAS of Ukraine.

The reports and presentations will take place within the framework of the exhibition "In the Light of the Torah: The Colorful World of Orthodox Jews Before the Times of Tribulation", organized by the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and the Embassy of Hungary in Ukraine in cooperation with the Budapest Holocaust Memorial Center. On the day of the exhibition opening, video recordings provided by the Budapest Holocaust Memorial Center will be broadcast in the exhibition space, and authentic recordings of traditional Jewish music and folklore, digitized by the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and the Institute for Information Recording Problems of the NAS of Ukraine, will be used for audio accompaniment.
