On May 27-29, 2026, the next annual conference of young scientists "Pidstryhach Readings – 2026" will be held at the Y. S. Pidstryhach Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine (Lviv). The organizer of the event is the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of this academic institution.
The traditional scientific readings are dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Ukrainian scientist in the field of mathematical problems of mechanics and mathematical modeling, the founder of the Y. S. Pidstryhach Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine, academician Yaroslav Stepanovych Pidstryhach (1928–1990).
The purpose of the event is to organize a forum for experienced and young scientists in the fields of mathematics and mechanics to promote the scientific growth and establishment of young scientists, exchange ideas among them and their young as well as senior colleagues, and importantly, to gain experience in presenting scientific results.
To popularize the name and significant scientific contribution of academician Yaroslav Stepanovych Pidstryhach to the development of mechanics, mathematics, and mathematical modeling, as well as to support talented youth during this difficult time for our country, the competition for the Y. S. Pidstryhach Prizes will once again be held within the framework of the young scientists' conference "Pidstryhach Readings – 2026". The awards are given to young scientists in the fields of "Mechanics," "Mathematics," and "Mathematical Modeling" (one in each category).
