On August 20, 2026, the final workshop of the NURECAB – NFW 2026 "Strengthening Ukraine's Nuclear Competence through European Cooperation" project will take place in a hybrid format (offline for Kyiv participants and online as well).
The event is organized within the "EU-UA Nuclear Research and Education Capacity Building" project (NURECAB, GA №101173510); it is implemented with the support of the Euratom Horizon Europe program under the coordination of the National Science Center "Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology" of the NAS of Ukraine, which is the National Contact Point for Euratom in Ukraine.
The final workshop will serve as a platform to summarize the NURECAB project, present its key results, and discuss current initiatives and prospects for Ukraine's integration into the European Research Area.
Representatives of the European Commission, Ukrainian government authorities, research funding organizations, universities, scientific institutions, as well as international organizations working in the field of nuclear education and research, are invited to participate in the workshop.
The participants will discuss:
- reforms and initiatives to support science and international cooperation;
- participation in the Horizon Europe program and the Euratom Research and Training Program;
- current initiatives for the development of nuclear education;
- key results of the NURECAB project;
- prospects for European cooperation and the development of Ukraine's nuclear competencies.
