Prize of the President of Ukraine for young scientists

Regulations on the President of Ukraine's Award for Young Scientists. The Regulations on the President of Ukraine's Award for Young Scientists (hereinafter – the Regulations) were approved by the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated June 12, 2000, No. 779/2000 "On the Regulations on the President of Ukraine's Award for Young Scientists." The President of Ukraine's Award for Young Scientists (hereinafter - the award) is granted for outstanding achievements in the fields of natural, technical, and humanitarian sciences that contribute to the further development of science, social progress, and establish the high authority of domestic science in the world (including research on the topic of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine). Scientific works published in a completed form at least one year before their nomination may be nominated for the award. Up to forty awards of 210 thousand hryvnias each are granted annually. Nominations of works for participation in the competition for the award are made by a scientific institution, higher education institution, legal entity that has relevant scientific subdivisions (within the meaning of the Law of Ukraine "On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity"), by decision of its academic (scientific, scientific-technical, technical) council, governing bodies of public scientific organizations, as well as by collegiums of ministries and other central executive authorities. Participants in the competition for the award may include scientific employees, scientific-pedagogical employees, postgraduate students, adjuncts, doctoral candidates, other scientists, and engineering-technical employees of scientific institutions (organizations), higher education institutions, organizations, and enterprises both individually and as part of a team of candidates. A team of candidates whose work is nominated for the award may not exceed four persons. Each candidate must be a direct participant in the execution of the work, and each candidate must have made a significant creative contribution. Candidates for the award from among scientists must meet the definition of the term "young scientist" as provided in the Law of Ukraine "On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity." Works nominated for the award are accepted by the Committee for the National Award of Ukraine named after Borys Paton annually until March 1. The procedure for nominating works and processing documents is determined by the presidium of the Committee. Works for which their performers have already been awarded state awards of Ukraine are not nominated for the award.
