In Kyiv, a memorial plaque was unveiled on the building where academician Borys Paton lived.

In Kyiv, a memorial plaque was solemnly unveiled on the building at 41A Oles Honchar Street, where the long-time president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician Borys Paton, lived from 1974 to 2020. The author of the memorial plaque was sculptor Volodymyr Koren.

The building No. 41A was specially constructed for scientists and became home to many well-known researchers. It was from here that Borys Paton’s daily walk to work began.

The initiative to install the memorial plaque belongs to the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine together with the association of co-owners of the apartment building.

The opening ceremony was attended by the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the E.O. Paton Institute of Electric Welding of the NAS of Ukraine, the scientific community, colleagues, and residents of the building.

Warm memories of Borys Yevhenovych, his personal qualities, work style, and exceptional dedication to science were shared by the President of the NAS of Ukraine, academician Anatoliy Zahorodniy, director of the Institute of Electric Welding, academician Ihor Krivtsun, deputy director of the Institute, academician Leonid Lobanov, and Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Maksym Strikha, who also lived in this building.
