The National Scientific Natural History Museum of the NAS of Ukraine represented Ukraine at The Munich Show – Mineralientage München – the largest European event dedicated to minerals, paleontology, and natural sciences.
The key event of the exhibition program was the special exhibition "Treasures of the Earth – Hidden Riches of Europe," held from October 23-26 at the initiative of the organizers of The Munich Show in cooperation with the Deutsches Museum (Munich). The exhibition featured 12 European countries, which presented characteristic deposits and unique samples of mineral heritage. The exhibition highlighted the geological diversity of Europe, the continent's resource potential, as well as contemporary challenges – environmental consequences of mining, resource security, and the role of minerals in the development of energy and technology.
Ukraine was represented for the first time within such a special European exhibition. The National Scientific Natural History Museum of the NAS of Ukraine provided collectible mineral samples that demonstrated the richness of Ukrainian deposits and the significant contribution of the national geological school to the European scientific context. Participation in the event was an important confirmation of Ukraine's presence in the international scientific and exhibition space, especially under conditions of war.
