On December 24, 2025, it will be 120 years since the birth of Anton Karlovich Walter (1905-1965) – an outstanding Ukrainian physicist, one of the founders of nuclear science in Ukraine, an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, and a longtime employee of the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology. On the occasion of this date, the museum and cultural complex "UFTI. Kharkiv" is initiating an online event dedicated to reflecting on modern approaches to representing scientific heritage. The event does not follow the traditional anniversary or lecture format and is not a physics lecture. Its goal is a professional museum discussion about how to talk about complex science and scientific figures in the language of a modern museum. During the meeting, Kharkiv museum professionals will discuss, in particular: - how to interpret complex scientific phenomena outside the professional environment; - how to work with "unpopular" figures in the history of science; - how to transform biography into experience, questions, and dialogue; - how the online format can become a full-fledged form of museum communication. The event will be of interest to museum workers, educators and museum educators, specialists in the field of cultural heritage, as well as researchers working with the history of science, cultural memory, and interpretive practices.
