On February 17, 2026, the National Scientific Center "Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology" of the NAS of Ukraine will hold a scientific seminar "Statistical Physics and Quantum Field Theory," dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian theoretical physicist, Honored Scientist of Ukraine, two-time laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, academician of the NAS of Ukraine Serhiy Volodymyrovych Peletminskyi.
The seminar will take place both online and offline. It will start at 10:00. Online participation is provided via Zoom conference (Id: 860 0014 0342, access code: 063459).
Serhiy Peletminskyi is the founder of the world-renowned Kharkiv school of statistical physics. His scientific activity covers a wide range of theoretical physics fields – statistical physics, quantum field theory, physical kinetics, the theory of superfluidity and superconductivity, physics of magnetic and spin phenomena in solids. He is the author of over 250 scientific works, including five monographs, and has trained a number of well-known scientists, among whom are doctors of science, academicians, and corresponding members of the NAS of Ukraine.
