For the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the popular science media KUNSHT, together with the ZMIN Foundation, published a material about Ukrainian researchers – scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Olena Pareniuk and Kateryna Shavanova.
The publication tells about their professional path, scientific activity, and the choice to continue working in Ukraine even after the start of the full-scale invasion. Despite opportunities to continue their careers abroad, both researchers consciously linked their work with the Ukrainian scientific community and the development of science in the country.
The material also notes that after the interview was recorded, Kateryna Shavanova joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, combining scientific activity with personal responsibility for the defense of the state.
