Antibiotics have saved millions of lives. However, today humanity faces a new threat – antibiotic resistance (bacteria's resistance to antibiotics), which not only complicates treatment but also creates significant risks for the healthcare system.
How to adapt modern medicine to new challenges, what solutions science, including Ukrainian science, can offer, what practical results scientists-microbiologists of the Academy have in this direction, what mechanisms ensure the resistance phenotype in Ukraine, and much more were discussed in an interview on the program "About Science. Competently" (hosted by academician of the NAS of Ukraine Volodymyr Seminozhenko), which airs on the YouTube channel of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, by senior researcher at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Biological Sciences Olena Moshynets.
