Summary:During preparation of the review, developments of PWI Economic Research Department, memoirs of E.O. Paton, books, articles and memoirs of veterans of the Institute, archival materials and official documents on the topics under consideration, publications of local and foreign authors were used.У збірнику наводиться інформація про всесвітньо відому Патонівську науково-інженерну школу в галузі зварювання та споріднених технологій, яку було створено видатним ученим, академіком Є.О. Патоном i розвинено гідним продовжувачем його справи, його сином, академіком Б.Є. Патоном. Висвітлено основні етапи становлення та розвитку цієї школи, іі вплив на розвиток світової зварювальної науки i техніки, її внесок у забезпечення економічної та воєнної безпеки країни. Дата та події розглядаються на тлі історичних подій XX i початку XXI столітъ, які викликали знакові зміни в державному, політичному й соціально-економічному середовищі життя та діяльнocтi інституту i країни в цілому. При підготовці огляду було використано розробки відділу економічних досліджень IE3, мемуари Є.О. Патона, книги, статті та спогади ветеранів інституту, apxiвнi матеріали та офіційні документи з даної тематики, публікації вітчизняних i зарубіжних авторів.

Summary:The collection contains information about the world-renowned Paton scientific and engineering school in the field of welding and related technologies, which was created by outstanding scientist, academician E.O. Paton and developed by worthy successor to his cause, his son, academician В.E. Paton. The main stages of formation and development of this school, its influence on the progress of world welding science and technology, its contribution to ensuring the economic and military security of the country are covered. The dates and events are considered against the background of historical events of the twentieth and the beginning of the twenty-first century, which brought about significant changes in the state, political and socio-economic environment of the life and activity of the Institute and the country as a whole.
