Description: | The test system is a highly sensitive method for detection of biomarkers of pathological conditions in blood plasma and other biological fluids on the basis of specific antibody and magnetic particles conjugates. The protocol of this test system consists of two phases: the enrichment of biomarker proteins and their detection. Biomarker protein is concentrated on the microparticles using immobilized specific antibodies. Antibodies against alternative epitope of protein biomarkers are added. These antibodies are labeled with biotin. Next avidin and biotinylated DNA are added to the microparticles. Avidin binds biotinylated antibodies and biotinylated DNA. The amount of bound DNA are determined by quantitative PCR. Defined amount of DNA is proportional to the amount of biomarker protein |
Technical advantages: | The test system is a highly sensitive method for detection of biomarker proteins in blood plasma, and biological fluids. Low concentrations of protein can be detected. It is important for the diagnosis of early stages of pathological processes. High sensitivity of the method allows to work with small amounts of biological fluids. The test system allows to detect 1 ng protein, while ELISA is not sensitive enough for such detection |
