068 INVESTIGATION OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ANTITUBERCULOUS DRUG CHEMICAL IMMOBILIZATION AN EPOXY POLYURETHANE POLYMERIC MATRIX |

Summary: | The ways of immobilization of isoniazid and streptomycin at the polymer matrix by IR and NMR spectroscopy have been investigated. It is established, that streptomycin immobilized at polymer matrix mainly due to the formation of hydrogen bonds. The possibility of obtaining polymeric form of isoniazid by chemical reaction between the amino group of isoniazid with isocyanate and epoxy groups of epoxy-polyurethane matrix has been shown. It is also possible partial physical immobilization of isoniazid. | |

068 Biologically degradable material based on epoxy-polyurethane compositions as a carrier of medical substances |

Summary: | The new composite material with osteotropic influence, physical and mechanical properties of which are sufficient to produce fixators for osteosynthesis such as plates and screws was designed. Composite material contains hydroxyapatite and immune modulating additive levamisole. Hydroxyapatite has a dual role in the composition: it improves the physical and mechanical properties of the material, and provides osteoinductive action. Levamisole regulates the intensity of the cell pathway of polyurethane biodegradation and optimizes tissue regeneration and differentiation of cellular elements involved in osteogenesis. The influence of this material on soft tissue was studied after implantation of samples subctaneously in experiments on rats. According to histological research data, levamisole, which was immobilized on the polyurethane-epoxy carrier, stimulates non-differentiated cell elements at the stage aseptic inflammation. The initial stimulation of monocytes results in their rapid transformation into macrophage elements that trigger the growth of fibroblasts, which in turn produce collagen, as indicated by the rapid replacement of implant by granulation tissue. In such a way, levamisole, which is a part of the polyurethane-epoxy composition accelerates tissue regeneration and reduces the risk of inflammatory complications in the bone wound. It is alsdo involved in the process of biodegradation of the composite material. | |
