On February 25, 2026, the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine at its regular meeting decided to award the V.I. Vernadsky Gold Medal of the NAS of Ukraine based on the results of the 2025 competition to academician of the NAS of Ukraine Mykola Hryhorovych Zhulynskyi and foreign member of the NAS of Ukraine Mark Romanovych Pavlyshyn (Australia) – for their outstanding contribution to the development of Ukrainian literary studies and its establishment abroad.

Biographical notes on the laureates of the V.I. Vernadsky Gold Medal of the NAS of Ukraine based on the results of the 2025 competition:

The V.I. Vernadsky Gold Medal was established by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to honor scientists for outstanding achievements in the fields of natural, technical, and social-humanitarian sciences, in honor of the first president of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences – the prominent scientist, academician Volodymyr Ivanovych Vernadsky, as well as on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the Academy's founding.

Two gold medals are awarded annually – one to a Ukrainian and one to a foreign scientist. The medal is awarded both for individual scientific achievements and for a body of scientific work.
