The Old Lion Publishing House has released a popular science book titled "Secrets of the Northern Lights" authored by Olena Kompaniiets, a scientist at the Main Astronomical Observatory of the NAS of Ukraine. The publication introduces readers to the nature of one of the most mysterious phenomena of space physics – the northern lights – and explains it from the perspective of modern science.
The book combines scientific knowledge with a popular presentation style: from ancient legends of northern peoples about celestial glow to modern concepts of the interaction between the solar wind and the magnetosphere of planets.
