Applications are now open for thematic summits of the RIFF project dedicated to the development of research infrastructures.

The RIFF project has opened applications for participation in thematic summits dedicated to discussing the future of research infrastructures and strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the European Research Area.

In May-June 2026, two international summits will take place, serving as a platform for dialogue between the scientific communities of the EU and Ukraine, exchange of experience, and initiation of new partnerships aimed at the development of science and support for the sustainable recovery of Ukraine.

May 19-20, 2026 – Krakow (Poland)

June 15-16, 2026 – Brno (Czech Republic)

Each event is expected to gather about 100 participants, including representatives of the Ukrainian research community.

What Ukrainian participants will receive:

  • direct dialogue with representatives of European research infrastructures, including ESFRI projects;
  • practical recommendations on access and membership models in ERIC, management, and sustainable development of infrastructures;
  • information about funding opportunities within the Horizon Europe program;
  • sessions on partnership building and preparation of joint projects;
  • exchange of experience in capacity building for research infrastructure leaders;
  • the opportunity to present their initiatives to the European community.

Summit in Krakow (May 19-20, 2026)

Organizer – SOLARIS Center. Thematic areas according to ESFRI classification: physical sciences and engineering, energy, social sciences and humanities.

Registration end (1st round): March 4, 2026

Notification of selected participants and start of 2nd round: from March 20, 2026

Final registration (2nd round): until April 2, 2026

Summit in Brno (June 15-16, 2026)

Organizer – Masaryk University (MUNI). Thematic areas according to ESFRI classification: health and food technologies, environment, data processing and digital research infrastructures.

Registration start (1st round): February 20, 2026

Registration end (1st round): March 4, 2026

Notification of selected participants and start of 2nd round: from March 20, 2026

Final registration (2nd round): until April 2, 2026

Travel and accommodation expenses for participants from Ukrainian scientific institutions who work and reside in Ukraine will be covered within the RIFF project.
