On March 19, 2026, the Department of Energy and Energy Technologies of the NAS of Ukraine signed a cooperation agreement with the Volodymyr Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University.
The document was signed by the academic secretary of the Department of Energy and Energy Technologies of the NAS of Ukraine, academician of the NAS of Ukraine Andriy Rusanov, and the rector of TNPU named after V. Hnatiuk, Doctor of Philosophical Sciences Bohdan Buyak.
The agreement is aimed at the development of joint scientific research, innovative activities, and educational initiatives in the field of energy, particularly energy-efficient and energy-saving technologies.
Among the key areas of cooperation are the development of biofuel electric generators, the implementation of joint scientific and applied projects, as well as the commercialization of scientific results. It is expected that such developments will contribute to strengthening energy independence, improving environmental safety, and modernizing infrastructure.
As academician Andriy Rusanov noted, within the framework of cooperation, a thermal generator has already been created that operates on untreated biomass from agricultural waste. According to him, this technology ensures efficient and automated combustion of biomass and opens up prospects for decarbonization and scaling in Ukraine.
The rector of TNPU named after V. Hnatiuk, Bohdan Buyak, reported that university scientists have been working for over 20 years in the field of energy-saving technologies, renewable energy, and bioenergy. Specialists from various faculties are involved in the research, ensuring an interdisciplinary nature of the developments. In the future, participation in international scientific programs, including Horizon Europe and Erasmus+, is planned.
