The Academy awarded the laureates of the prizes named after outstanding Ukrainian scientists based on the results of the 2025 competition.

During the regular reporting session of the General Assembly of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, held on April 23, 2026, in Kyiv, the President of the NAS of Ukraine, academician Anatoliy Zahorodniy, presented diplomas to the laureates of the awards named after outstanding Ukrainian scientists based on the results of the 2025 competition.

To recognize scientists for discoveries, inventions, and the best scientific works that are important for the development of science and the economy of Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine annually awards prizes named after outstanding Ukrainian scientists. Each prize is awarded once every three years.

This year, the M.O. Lavrentiev Prize (for outstanding scientific works in the field of mathematics) – for the series of scientific works "Shape Preservation and Smoothness of Functions in Approximation Problems and the Theory of Differential Operators" – was awarded to:

  • Professor of the Department of Mathematical Analysis at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, academician of the NAS of Ukraine Ihor Shevchuk;
  • Leading Researcher at the Institute of Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Oleksandr Murach;
  • Leading Researcher at the Institute of Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Anatoliy Serdyuk.

The M.M. Krylov Prize (for outstanding scientific works in the field of nonlinear mechanics and applied mathematics) – for the series of scientific works "Algebraic and Approximate Methods in Problems of Mathematical and Theoretical Physics" – was awarded to:

  • Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the Y.S. Pidstryhach Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Volodymyr Pelykh;
  • Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the Institute of Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Vitaliy Vasylik;
  • Leading Researcher at the Y.S. Pidstryhach Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Ivan Kirchey.

The A.O. Dorodnitsyn Prize (for outstanding achievements in computer mathematics and computing technology) – for the scientific work "Adaptive Methods of Mathematical Modeling and Optimization for Complex Systems and Processes" – was awarded to:

  • Head of the Department of Computational Mathematics at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Serhiy Lyashko;
  • Head of the Department of Software Engineering at Ivan Puluj Ternopil National Technical University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Mykhailo Petryk;
  • Head of Department at the V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the NAS of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Petro Stetsyuk.

The S.O. Lebedev Prize (for outstanding achievements in computing technology, instrument engineering, and the creation of automation and control systems) – for the series of works "Models and Methods of Computational Intelligence for Planning Swarm Missions and Territory Coverage Ensuring the Security of Distributed Systems" – was awarded to:

  • Head of Department at the V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the NAS of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Leonid Hulyanytskyi;
  • Director of the Educational and Scientific Physical-Technical Institute of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute," Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Oleksiy Novikov;
  • Deputy Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Serhiy Yakovlev.

The O.K. Antonov Prize (for outstanding achievements in technical mechanics and aircraft manufacturing) – for the work "Improvement of the Characteristics of Aviation Gas Turbine Engines for Various Purposes" – was awarded to:

  • General Director of JSC "Zaporizhzhia Machine-Building Design Bureau 'Progress' named after Academician O.H. Ivchenko," Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Ihor Kravchenko;
  • Head of the Department of Aircraft Engine Design at the National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute," Doctor of Technical Sciences Serhiy Epifanov.

The H.S. Pysarenko Prize (for outstanding scientific works in the field of strength of materials and structures) – for the series of works "Development and Application of the Mixed Finite Element Method in Gradient Elasticity Theory and Fracture Mechanics" – was awarded to:

  • Director of the H.S. Pysarenko Institute of Strength Problems of the NAS of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Oleksandr Chyrkov;
  • Researcher at the Institute of Materials, Technology and Mechanics of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (Germany), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Lidiya Nazarenko;
  • Honorary Doctor of the Institute of Materials, Technology and Mechanics of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (Germany), Foreign Member of the NAS of Ukraine Holm Altenbach.

The L.V. Shubnikov Prize (for outstanding works in experimental physics) – for the discovery of new physical effects in nanoscale systems based on quasi-2D materials – was awarded to:

  • Senior Researcher at the B.I. Verkin Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Dmytro Bashlakov;
  • Senior Researcher at the B.I. Verkin Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Oksana Kvitnytska;
  • Chief Researcher at the B.I. Verkin Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering of the NAS of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Yuriy Naidyuk.

The H.V. Kurdiumov Prize (for outstanding works in the field of metal physics and physical materials science) – for the development of innovative approaches to creating materials with unique physical properties – was awarded to:

  • Head of Department at the H.V. Kurdiumov Institute of Metal Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Bohdan Mordyuk;
  • Head of Department at the H.V. Kurdiumov Institute of Metal Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Taras Radchenko;
  • Director of the H.V. Kurdiumov Institute of Metal Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Valentyn Tatarenko.

The N.D. Morgulis Prize (for outstanding works in surface physics and physical nanoelectronics) – for the development of new methods for modifying the electronic structure of graphene-like two-dimensional systems – was awarded to:

  • Head of Department at the Institute of Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Serhiy Sologub;
  • Senior Researcher at the Institute of Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Nataliya Petrova;
  • Senior Researcher at the Institute of Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Roman Rudenko.

The G.A. Gamov Prize (for outstanding results in the theory of fundamental interactions, astrophysics, and cosmology) – for establishing the capability of dwarf galaxies to cause reionization of intergalactic gas – was awarded to:

  • Chief Researcher at the M.M. Bogolyubov Institute of Theoretical Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Yuriy Izotov;
  • Chief Researcher at the M.M. Bogolyubov Institute of Theoretical Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Nataliya Husieva.

The P.A. Tutkovsky Prize (for outstanding works in geology, geography, oceanology, geoecology, climatology, and meteorology) – for the monograph "Satellite Monitoring of Fires and Atmospheric Air Pollution" – was awarded to:

  • Director of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute of the State Emergency Service and NAS of Ukraine, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Volodymyr Osadchyi;
  • Head of Laboratory at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute of the State Emergency Service and NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Geographical Sciences Mykhailo Savenets;
  • Senior Researcher at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute of the State Emergency Service and NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Geographical Sciences Andriy Oreshchenko.

The Y.E. Paton Prize (for outstanding scientific works in the creation of new metallic materials and methods of their processing) – for the series of works "Development of Electron Beam Technologies for Obtaining and Welding New Generation Titanium Alloys" – was awarded to Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the E.O. Paton Institute of Electric Welding of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Serhiy Akhonin.

The H.V. Karpenko Prize (for outstanding scientific works in the field of physico-chemical mechanics of materials and materials science) – for the scientific work (monograph) "Identification of Special-Purpose Structures by Their Fragments Based on Scanning Electron Microscopy" – was awarded to:

  • Head of the Central Research Institute of Armament and Military Equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Ihor Chepkov;
  • Director of the Technical Center of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Svitlana Sperkach;
  • Head of Department at the Technical Center of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Valeriy Kremenitsky.

The H.F. Proskura Prize (for outstanding scientific works in the field of energy) – for the series of scientific works "Scientific and Technical Foundations for Creating Efficient Fuel from Alternative Energy Sources" – was awarded to:

  • Director of the Institute of Technical Thermophysics of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Yuriy Snezhkin;
  • Head of Department at the Institute of Technical Thermophysics of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences Heorhiy Heletukha;
  • Head of Laboratory at the Institute of Technical Thermophysics of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Technical Sciences Vyacheslav Mykhailyk.

The O.I. Leipunsky Prize (for outstanding works in nuclear energy) – for the series of works "Creation of a Domestic Certification Complex for Activated Carbon by Methyl Iodide and Development of New Tissue Carbon Sorbents to Ensure Nuclear Power Plant Safety" – was awarded to:

  • Head of Department at the National Scientific Center "Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology," Candidate of Technical Sciences Ihor Hurin;
  • Head of Department at the National Scientific Center "Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology," Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Volodymyr Levenets;
  • Head of Department at the National Scientific Center "Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology," Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Volodymyr Sokolenko.

The A.I. Kiprianov Prize (for outstanding scientific works in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and chemical technology) – for the series of scientific works "Synthesis and Study of Functionalized Calixarenes for Biomedicine, Sensorics, and Ecology" – was awarded to:

  • Head of Department at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Serhiy Cherenok;
  • Head of Laboratory at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Roman Rodik;
  • Senior Researcher at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Chemical Sciences Oleksandr Yesypenko.

The P.H. Kostyuk Prize (for outstanding scientific works in physiology, biophysics, and neurophysiology) – for the series of scientific works "Biophysical and Neurophysiological Mechanisms of Nervous System Functioning under Normal and Pathological Conditions" – was awarded to:

  • Professor of the Department of the Educational and Scientific Center "Institute of Biology and Medicine" at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Doctor of Biological Sciences Mykola Makarchuk;
  • Head of the Department of the Educational and Scientific Center "Institute of Biology and Medicine" at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Doctor of Biological Sciences Oleksandr Zholos;
  • Associate Professor of the Department of the Educational and Scientific Center "Institute of Biology and Medicine" at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Candidate of Biological Sciences Tetyana Kutsenko.

The V.P. Komisarenko Prize (for outstanding scientific works in pathophysiology and endocrinology) – for the series of scientific works "Clarification of Hormone Action Mechanisms – Implementation of Fundamental Research into Applied Endocrinology" – was awarded to:

  • Head of Department at the V.P. Komisarenko Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences Viktor Kravchenko;
  • Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the V.P. Komisarenko Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Olena Kovzun;

Amosov Prize (for outstanding scientific works in bio-cybernetics, artificial intelligence problems, and the development of new information technologies) – for the series of scientific works "Implementation of Innovative Technologies for Donor Heart Transplantation during the War as a Factor of Resilience of the Healthcare System in Ukraine" – was awarded to:

  • General Director of the State Non-Commercial Enterprise "Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine," Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Borys Todurov;
  • Transplant Surgeon, Cardiovascular Surgeon at the State Non-Commercial Enterprise "Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine," Candidate of Medical Sciences Sofiya Chaikovska;

The O.V. Palladin Prize (for outstanding scientific works in biochemistry and molecular biology) – for the series of scientific works "Biochemical Mechanisms of Nanomaterials' Action on Muscle Contractile Activity under Normal and Pathological Conditions" – was awarded to:

  • Leading Researcher at the O.V. Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Biological Sciences Tetyana Veklich;

Schmalhausen Prize (for outstanding scientific works in zoology, morphology, phylogeny, animal ecology, and bionics) – for the series of scientific works "Ecological and Faunistic Studies of Aquatic Animals (Invertebrates and Fish) as Methodological Foundations for the Development of Modern Bioindication Hydrobiology" – was awarded to:

  • Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the Institute of Hydrobiology of the NAS of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Volodymyr Yurishynets;

The NAS of Ukraine V.Ya. Yuriev Prize (for outstanding scientific works in genetics and the creation of new methods of acclimatization, higher-yielding varieties of agricultural crops, and highly productive breeds of animals) – for the series of scientific works "Adaptive Mechanisms of Acclimatization of Unconventional Fruit Plants – Sources of Biologically Active Compounds" – was awarded to:

  • Senior Researcher at the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Biological Sciences Nadiya Skrypchenko;
  • Senior Researcher at the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Biological Sciences Oksana Dzyuba;

Vasylenko Prize (for outstanding scientific works in the field of state and law of Ukraine) – for the monograph "Effectiveness of Labor Law Norms: Theoretical, Normative, and Praxeological Aspects" – was awarded to Head of Department at the Institute of Legislation and Legal Expertise of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Law Lyudmyla Kupina.

The I.Ya. Franko Prize (for outstanding works in philology, ethnology, and art studies) – for the work "Pretexts of Intermediality: Verbal-Visual Format" – was awarded to Leading Researcher at the T.H. Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Philological Sciences Lesya Henarulyuk.
