On March 17-19, 2026, the International Scientific Conference "KMPB-Ukraine Workshop" was held in a hybrid format at the M.M. Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, organized jointly with the Kolleg Mathematik Physik Berlin (KMPB).
The event was aimed at developing cooperation between German and Ukrainian scientists in the fields of mathematics, theoretical and mathematical physics. The opening address was given by the director of the M.M. Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Serhiy Perepelytsia, who noted the importance of developing international scientific cooperation and the relevance of the conference topic to modern trends and challenges.
The topics of the event included quantum field theory, research on integrable systems, dualities and deformations, string theory, symmetries of differential equations, Lie algebra theory, algebraic and differential geometry, and topology.
More than 50 participants took part in the conference, with 22 scientific reports presented, 14 of which were by Ukrainian scientists. A joint delegation of employees from the M.M. Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics of the NAS of Ukraine and the Institute of Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine was invited by the German side and visited Berlin to present their scientific results within the framework of the conference. In particular, the head of the department, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Oleksandr Havrylyk, presented his scientific results and ideas at Humboldt University of Berlin, discussing the application of sigma models of quantum field theory both for describing tetracritical points of condensed systems and for string motion in space-time. Chief Researcher, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Oleksandr Zolotariuk shared his latest results on the description of bound states of pseudospin particles and their passage through an energy barrier. Leading Researcher, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Taras Skrypnyk gave a detailed talk about algebraic structures in the theory of integrable systems.
The Institute of Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine was represented in Berlin by four scientists. Leading Researcher, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Maryna Nesterenko spoke about research results on contractions and realizations of Lie algebras. Chief Researcher, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Anatoliy Nikitin reported his own results on integrability and superintegrability of quantum-mechanical systems. Leading Researcher, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Roman Popovych presented results on the study of symmetries of classes of Schrödinger equations. The head of the Laboratory of Complex Dynamical Systems, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Oleksandr Burylko discussed research on multistability in the gradient oscillator model of a frustrated spin system.
German colleagues highly appreciated the research results of Ukrainian scientists and expressed their wishes to continue and deepen scientific cooperation.
