In the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, awards were presented to young scientists for the year 2024.

On July 10, 2026, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the laureates of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Prize for young scientists for 2024 and presented them with diplomas and awards. Serhiy Babak, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation also congratulated the scientific youth.

It is worth reminding that 42 out of 91 winners of the competitive selection are young scientists from 21 scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine:

  • Institute of Cell Biology and Genetic Engineering of the NAS of Ukraine;
  •  Institute of Ethnology of the NAS of Ukraine.

21 works of young scientists of the Academy covered a wide range of issues – from intelligent technologies for improving the efficiency of using unmanned aerial systems for military and civilian purposes to comprehensive remediation using environmentally safe substances in order to restore technogenically contaminated soils, from modern problems of function theory and fractal analysis to the calendar-ritual context of folk demonology of Volyn region, from the latest achievements of the Kyiv paleomagnetic school to changes in reproductive processes of plants under the impact of ionizing radiation.

The purpose of the Verkhovna Rada Prize for young scientists is to promote the development of Ukrainian science and technology, improve support for young scientists, create additional opportunities and incentives for them to carry out fundamental and applied scientific research and scientific and technical developments in priority areas of science and technology development.
