On March 4, 2026, leading scientists of the Institute of Electronic Physics of the NAS of Ukraine met with students of the Uzhhorod branch of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy. The meeting took place within the thematic block "Researchers' Research Week," the purpose of which was to show students the world of science not through textbooks, but through the personalities who create it.
The Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Hanna Homonay, told the students about the history of the establishment of the Institute of Electronic Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, its formation and development, introduced them to the structure of the institution, priority areas of scientific research, including atomic and molecular spectroscopy; semiconductor physics; physico-chemical foundations and technologies for obtaining, processing, and applying macroscopic and mesoscopic crystals, films, and glassy materials; nuclear and radiation physics; high-energy physics; radioecology. She emphasized that all research has not only a fundamental but also an applied nature and can find its application in various fields of science and technology. Hanna Homonay also stressed that a significant part of the Institute's scientists' work is the training of highly qualified personnel. After all, preserving and developing scientific potential is the key to the rapid recovery of the economy in the post-war period and Ukraine's entry on equal terms into the global space.
