The National Research Foundation of Ukraine announces the competition "Individual Scientific Projects 2027-2028".
The competition is aimed at supporting relevant individual projects of Ukrainian scientists to carry out advanced scientific research and development.
Thematic directions of the Competition: fundamental and applied problems in all fields of science related to solving the most urgent research tasks aimed at the technological, economic, social, and cultural progress of Ukraine.
The subject matter of projects for conducting scientific research and development (hereinafter – Projects) submitted for participation in the Competition must correspond to at least one of the directions of science and technology development (according to Article 3 of the Law of Ukraine "On Priority Directions of Science and Technology Development"):
1) national security and defense;
2) fundamental scientific research on the most important problems of the development of scientific-technical, socio-economic, socio-political, and human potential to ensure Ukraine's competitiveness in the world and sustainable development of society and the state;
3) information and communication technologies;
4) energy and energy efficiency;
5) rational use of natural resources;
6) life sciences, new technologies for the prevention and treatment of the most common diseases;
7) new substances and materials.
The duration of the projects selected as a result of the Competition: up to 2 years.
The total amount of funding for the projects selected as a result of the Competition: up to 100 million UAH (up to 50 million UAH in 2027 and up to 50 million UAH in 2028).
Start date and time for submitting applications for the Competition: 01.04.2026.
Deadline for submitting applications: 01.05.2026.
Terms for conducting scientific and scientific-technical expertise and summarizing the results of the Competition: by 15.12.2026 (tentatively).
