Dear colleagues! Dear Ukrainians!
I sincerely congratulate you on the significant national holiday – the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine!
On June 28, 1996, Ukraine took a historic step by enshrining in the Constitution the vision of the state as a sovereign, independent, democratic, social, and legal one. This was a moment of constitutional affirmation of Ukrainian statehood, which has deep historical roots and is based on the centuries-long struggle of the Ukrainian people for the freedom.
Over three decades, the Constitution has become the foundation for the development of the legal system in Ukraine, defining the strategic guidelines for the progress of our state.
Today, in an era of global challenges and under the tough test of the full-scale war, we especially keenly realize the true value of the Constitution of Ukraine as the basis of national resilience, unity, and the fight for the future.
Academic legal science has always been and remains an important component of the development of modern Ukrainian constitutionalism. Over decades, scholars have formed a powerful intellectual foundation for understanding the nature of the Ukrainian state, the principles of public authority organization, the establishment of the rule of law, democratic institutions, and values. It is our joint responsibility to do everything so that constitutional principles are not just declarations but daily practice in state governance and social life.
May our unity and faith in victory be unwavering. We will definitely rebuild Ukraine – strong, independent, rightful, and democratic!
