The President of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician Anatoliy Zahorodniy, was awarded the title of "Honorary Doctor of Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture" (Doctor Honoris Causa).
The solemn awarding took place on February 26, 2026, during a meeting of the University Academic Council.
This honorary distinction became a recognition of high professional achievements, significant contribution to scientific activity and the development of academic science in Ukraine, as well as active cooperation between academic institutions and higher education establishments.
In his speech, Anatoliy Zahorodniy expressed sincere gratitude to the university leadership and members of the Academic Council for the high appraisal of his scientific accomplishments.
He emphasized that the honorary title is primarily a confirmation of the future: "This is not only recognition of the current successful cooperation between the university and the NAS of Ukraine. Above all, it confirms my confidence in the further fruitful results of our joint work."
The President of the Academy highlighted specific areas of partnership with KNUBA: development of new materials and technologies for construction, research in geomechanics, soil mechanics, and environmental safety, preparation of scientific monographs, and participation of Academy scientists in the educational process.
Anatoliy Zahorodniy also stressed the importance of supporting young scientists as a key condition for the sustainable development of science in Ukraine and expressed hope for further strengthening of the partnership between academic institutions and the university community in the context of state rebuilding.
Concluding his speech, the President of the NAS of Ukraine once again thanked for the high honor and wished the university new scientific achievements, prosperity, success in training specialists, and continuous progress forward in serving education, science, and society.
