From April 8 to 14, 2026, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the NAS of Ukraine Anatoliy Zahorodniy signed joint activity programs of the NAS of Ukraine with the national sectoral academies of sciences of Ukraine for 2026-2028.
The documents were signed by the president of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the NAS of Ukraine and academician of the NAMNU Vasyl Lazoryshynets, president of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the NAAS Yaroslav Hadzalo, president of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the NAPrNU Volodymyr Zhuravel, president of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, academician of the NAU Viktor Sydorenko, and president of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the NAS of Ukraine and academician of the NAPN Vasyl Kremen.
During the signing of the programs, Anatoliy Zahorodniy noted the positive experience of forming and implementing previous joint activity programs for 2023-2025, emphasizing their role in the development of inter-academic interaction, particularly in organizing and conducting joint scientific research and scientific-technical developments.
The new programs were formed in accordance with the recommendations of the Council of Presidents of Academies of Sciences of Ukraine, taking into account the proposals of sectoral academies, departments, and scientific institutions of the NAS of Ukraine. They provide for conducting joint research, preparing scientific and educational publications, publications, developing methodological recommendations, as well as organizing conferences, round tables, and other coordination events.
The cooperation program with the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine provides for interdisciplinary research in the fields of biomedicine, biotechnology, medical engineering, and public health involving 11 institutions of the NAS of Ukraine and 14 institutions of the NAMNU. Among the key tasks are the preparation of expert-analytical materials and recommendations for state policy in the field of healthcare, as well as the development of scientific-methodological foundations for the implementation of digital technologies, including big data analysis and artificial intelligence, in medical research and clinical practice.
Within the framework of cooperation with the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, the creation and implementation of modern high-tech technologies in agriculture and environmental protection are envisaged. This includes agrochemical support of farming, control and treatment of animal diseases, use of wireless sensor networks, monitoring of ichthyofauna status, soil restoration, as well as assessment of the impact of natural and anthropogenic factors on forest ecosystems affected by hostilities. The program involves 27 institutions of the NAS of Ukraine and 25 institutions of the NAAS.
The implementation of the program with the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine will contribute to strengthening the interaction of legal science and humanitarian research. It provides for the participation of scientists in the work of scientific-coordination and expert bodies, particularly on issues of legislative activity and the development of the artificial intelligence sector, as well as joint preparation of the Great Ukrainian Legal Encyclopedia, conducting scientific-practical events, and developing approaches to harmonize Ukrainian legislation with EU legislation, development of knowledge transfer and commercialization of intellectual property.
The cooperation program with the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine is aimed at addressing current tasks of cultural and artistic development, including the preservation of cultural heritage, research of contemporary artistic processes, application of sociocultural technologies, formation of critical thinking under hybrid challenges, as well as the development of bibliometric and science studies. It provides for joint preparation and peer review of scientific and publishing materials.
The basis of the cooperation program with the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine includes both the continuation of traditional interaction and new conceptual approaches that take into account European integration processes, martial law conditions, and post-war recovery needs. Significant attention is paid to the role of science as a factor of innovative development. The program provides for interaction in scientific-expert activities, preparation of legislative initiatives in the field of science and education, development of the system for training doctors of philosophy, creation of inclusive education models, tools for identifying and supporting gifted youth, as well as conducting scientific and educational events.
Following the signing, the presidents of the sectoral academies of sciences – Vasyl Lazoryshynets, Yaroslav Hadzalo, Volodymyr Zhuravel, Viktor Sydorenko, and Vasyl Kremen – gave a high assessment of the development of inter-academic interaction and noted that the implementation of joint activity programs is an effective tool for obtaining high-level scientific results to solve urgent social challenges.
