The Science and Technology Center in Ukraine and the V.G. Baryakhtar Institute of Magnetism of the NAS of Ukraine, on behalf of the Magnetism Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), announce a competition for the new IEEE program – "Magnetism for Ukraine 2026/27".
This competitive program offers individual grants of 2,000 USD and group grants of 10,000 USD for a one-year period.
The goal of the program is to support research and professional development of scientists, engineers, and students working in the field of magnetism, with an emphasis on excellence, innovation, and community development.
Proposals will be evaluated based on scientific excellence, as well as principles of diversity and inclusiveness.
Eligible participants in the competition are researchers who:
- are pursuing or have already obtained a PhD degree;
- hold a permanent position at a Ukrainian research institute or university;
- reside in Ukraine at least 50% of the time during the project implementation;
- focus their proposed research on magnetism, spintronics, magnetic materials science, or related fields.
An applicant may participate in no more than one project proposal (individual or group project) within this competition.
Winners of the previous, last year's competition are not eligible to apply this year. Also, individuals who have received funding twice under this program (whether in individual or group projects) are not eligible for a third grant.
Strongly encouraged are:
- the involvement of international partners;
- participation of young researchers (within less than 10 years after obtaining a PhD degree).
