On March 24, 2026, the award ceremony "UP 100: The Power of Women by LOVARÉ" took place in Kyiv – an annual award by "Ukrainian Truth" that recognizes one hundred outstanding Ukrainian women in various fields.
In the category "Education and Science," among the ten laureates are three researchers from the NAS of Ukraine.
Khrystyna Hnatenko – Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Theoretical Physics named after Professor Ivan Vakarchuk at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In 2020, she became the youngest Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in Ukraine. Her scientific interests include quantum mechanics and quantum programming. The scientist also actively popularizes science among children and adults and professionally plays the violin.
Olena Pariyska – Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Researcher at the L.V. Pisarzhevsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the NAS of Ukraine. She works on creating graphene materials with heteroatoms as an alternative to expensive catalysts made from noble metals. These materials can act as catalysts in energy conversion processes. For her scientific achievements, Olena has been awarded prizes for young scientists: the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (2020), the Kyiv City Mayor for special achievements of youth in building the capital of Ukraine – the hero city Kyiv (2021), the President of Ukraine (2024), and she also became a laureate of the Ukrainian L'Oréal-UNESCO "For Women in Science" Award (2024).
Katerina Shavanova – Biologist, researcher, science popularizer, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Senior Researcher at the Institute for Nuclear Safety Problems of the NAS of Ukraine. Her scientific interests cover agriculture, radiobiology and radioecology, nuclear and radiation safety, microbiology, and biosensorics. Katerina voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and serves in the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Khartiya."
