The National Research Foundation of Ukraine announces the competition "Applied Science for the Resilience and Recovery of Ukraine"

The National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU) announces a competition for projects on conducting scientific research "Applied Science for the Resilience and Recovery of Ukraine".

The competition aims to create science-intensive and competitive scientific and technical products with high potential added value and/or social significance, which can be implemented in production, social sphere, etc.

Thematic directions of the Competition: applied scientific research or scientific and technical (experimental) developments aimed at producing scientifically based solutions to strengthen the resilience of Ukraine (priority areas defined by items 1, 3-7 of Article 3 of the Law of Ukraine "On Priority Directions of Science and Technology Development").

The project must correspond to one of the following thematic directions:

  • new technologies, materials, and engineering solutions to ensure the resilience and recovery of industrial and technological systems and the functioning of new sectors of Ukraine's economy;
  • information, digital, and mathematical methods for modeling, optimizing, and managing processes under conditions of limited resources and increased risks;
  • environmental safety and innovative technologies for the preservation, restoration, and balanced use of natural resources;
  • biomedical technologies, medical engineering, and rehabilitation systems;
  • new or significantly improved socio-economic, organizational-managerial, institutional and service solutions, models, systems, methodologies, and digital tools to ensure the resilience, recovery, and development of Ukraine;
  • counteracting disinformation and manipulation in the information space and cultural discourse aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s informational, cultural, and communicative security.

Duration of project implementation selected based on the Competition results: up to 2 years;

Total funding volume for projects selected based on the Competition results: up to UAH 310.8 million (in 2027 – up to UAH 160.8 million, in 2028 – up to UAH 150.0 million)

Start date and time for submitting applications to the Competition: April 10, 2026;

Deadline for submitting applications: May 11, 2026;

Deadlines for conducting scientific and scientific-technical expertise and summarizing the Competition results: by December 15, 2026 (tentatively).
