The M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine and the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Ukraine invite you to participate in the third Science and Plants Festival "Fest Science & Plants," which will take place on May 16, 2026, with the support of the President of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician Anatoliy Zahorodniy.
The participants of the event will be leading scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Ukraine, and partner organizations.
The purpose of the event is to popularize scientific achievements and create an open space for communication. The festival program includes lectures, interactive demonstrations, exhibitions, master classes, and educational activities for visitors of all ages.
Within the framework of the festival, NAS of Ukraine institutions and partner organizations will present their scientific achievements, innovative developments, and educational initiatives, including:
- The Department of Materials Science of the NAS of Ukraine has selected unique exhibits of applied developments in the field of materials science for demonstration;
- The Department of Literature, Language, and Art Studies of the NAS of Ukraine has prepared an interactive presentation of the scientific achievements of the humanities institutes;
- The Institute of Information Technologies and Systems of the NAS of Ukraine will provide a unique opportunity to attend a presentation of a model of an unmanned aerial complex and intelligent analysis systems;
- The Main Astronomical Observatory of the NAS of Ukraine will provide all necessary equipment for festival guests to observe the Sun;
- The National Antarctic Scientific Center will introduce you to the biota of Antarctica as part of the festival;
- The Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space of the NAS of Ukraine invites you to visit an exhibition of scientific publications and a presentation of research in the field of information technologies for environmental safety;
- The V.I. Vernadsky Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the NAS of Ukraine will acquaint festival guests with applied chemical developments;
- The State University "Kyiv Aviation Institute" has prepared a demonstration of robotic systems with the possibility of practical interaction for visitors;
- The M.G. Kholodny Institute of Botany of the NAS of Ukraine will impress visitors with an interactive location showcasing microalgae, herbariums, and the diversity of plant communities;
- The National Scientific Natural History Museum of the NAS of Ukraine has prepared a demonstration of fossil remains of organisms and an interactive paleontological location for children;
- The Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine will present an exhibition of samples of plant products, seeds, biopreparations, and scientific materials;
- The Institute of Cell Biology and Genetic Engineering of the NAS of Ukraine has prepared a demonstration of plant samples and genetic transformation methods with the possibility of visitor participation;
- The State Institution "Institute of Food Biotechnology and Genomics of the NAS of Ukraine" will conduct a master class "Invisible Botanical Garden: a micro-expedition into the world of plants";
- The I.I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of the NAS of Ukraine has prepared a series of popular science lectures on various zoological topics;
- The Institute for Nuclear Research of the NAS of Ukraine invites you to attend a lecture about the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, the radioecological reserve, and modern radiobiological research;
- The Institute of Hydrobiology of the NAS of Ukraine plans to conduct ecological interactive activities and a lecture on river revitalization during the festival;
- The Department of Biotechnology of the State University "Kyiv Aviation Institute" will conduct extraction and analysis of plant biomolecules, research on plant symbionts, and study the effects of microgravity on plant growth together with visitors;
- The Department of Archaeology of NaUKMA in collaboration with the Institute of Archaeology of the NAS of Ukraine will present a collection of archaeological finds and introduce scientific approaches in modern archaeology;
- The National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" will engage adults and children with an interactive ecological location featuring the construction of trophic chains, map creation, and creative activities;
- The Faculty of Animal Science and Aquatic Bioresources of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine invites visitors to a location where aquaculture objects will be demonstrated and cultivation conditions explained;
- LLC "Yuria-Pharm" will demonstrate samples of Empathy water and innovative hydration solutions;
- The M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine will offer an introduction to the scientific and innovative developments of the team, and the Garden’s specialists will conduct themed tours of unique collection and exhibition areas: "Lilac Garden," "Seasons," "Garden of Aromas," Korean, Indonesian, Tibetan, Japanese gardens, the Austrian Alps, and botanical-geographical exhibitions of Ukraine and Eurasia. The rich plant collections (ornamental, tropical and subtropical, medicinal, aromatic, bioenergetic) will amaze with their diversity and beauty.
The festival will, for the third time, become an open platform for popularizing science and plant biodiversity, demonstrating the results of modern research, and direct communication between scientists and the public.
