Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine announced the start of data acceptance and verification in the "National Researcher System of Ukraine" module of the URIS National Electronic Scientific Information System.
From now on, Ukrainian scientists, including researchers of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, can integrate verified data about their scientific results through the URIS system. This primarily concerns quantitative indicators regarding publications and citations, grants, patents, international cooperation, training of young researchers, and other results of scientific and scientific-technical work.
Based on this data, a general researcher ranking and a separate young scientists ranking will be formed. Scientists who occupy the highest positions in the rankings will be awarded state scholarships for two years in the amount of 12 thousand UAH per month.
In 2026, 190 million UAH is allocated for the payment of such scholarships, which will allow supporting 2,650 researchers.
Ranking of scientists and awarding of state scholarships will be carried out in accordance with the Methodology for forming rankings in the National Researcher System of Ukraine and the Procedure for granting state scholarships to scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers included in the National Researcher System of Ukraine. These documents were approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated May 20, 2026, No. 678.
Eligible for receiving a state scholarship are scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers who work at their main place of employment in the relevant positions and are included in the National Researcher System of Ukraine.
An equal number of scholarships will be awarded to researchers from the general ranking and the young scientists ranking. Within each ranking, the number of scholarships among scientific fields will be distributed proportionally to the number of applicants. At the same time, the number of applicants will be considered with a 15% increase for the field of "National Security and Defense".
Information can be submitted to the National Researcher System of Ukraine through a personal account in the URIS system until July 20, 2026, 1:00 PM.
