Research interests: dynamic properties of disordered systems, condensed matter under high pressure, first-principles computer modeling.
Abstract of the presentation: During the seminar, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine T.M. Bryk will discuss fundamental differences in the propagation of collective excitations in liquids and glass, paying special attention to the long-wavelength regime. The presentation will introduce a methodology for evaluating dynamic eigenmodes in melts, which can also be applied to glassy systems. This approach provides insight into the physical processes underlying the propagation of collective excitations and explains how acoustic modes evolve from viscous behavior on macroscopic scales to elastic behavior on atomic scales.

"Thermal Kharkiv Seminars" – a regular scientific platform dedicated to modern research in heat capacity, thermal conductivity, and other thermal phenomena in solids at low temperatures. The seminars are organized with the support of the NDFU project implemented at the B.I. Verkin ILTPE of the NAS of Ukraine. The goal of the seminars is to create and maintain an open scientific environment for professional interaction, exchange of research results, and discussion of current problems in low-temperature physics. Special attention is given to: quantum and nanoscale effects in thermal properties of materials; experimental methods for measuring heat capacity and thermal conductivity; modeling of thermal processes in complex systems, novel materials, and composites. The seminars promote the formation of interdisciplinary approaches and the development of scientific collaboration in the field of low-temperature physics.
