The Academy awarded the prize for the popularization of science in 2025

At the regular reporting session of the General Assembly of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, held on April 23, 2026, in Kyiv, the NAS of Ukraine Prize "For the Popularization of Science" was solemnly awarded (based on the results of the 2025 competition).

The President of the NAS of Ukraine, academician Anatoliy Zahorodniy, reminded that this prize can be awarded to mass media and their individual representatives, scientists, and organizers of independent projects for the best material about the achievements of scientists, the activities of scientific institutions and the NAS of Ukraine in general, as well as for promoting the popularization of science and enhancing the prestige of the scientist profession in Ukraine.

As we have already reported, the winners in the nomination "Best popular science publication (series of publications) about scientific developments and achievements, problems of science development and/or publication of periodic printed/electronic media about science (journals, newspapers, internet sites registered as media, scientific sections of media)" were the head of the Department of Plasma Processes and Technologies of the Gas Institute of the NAS of Ukraine, corresponding member of the NAS of Ukraine Viktor Zhovtyansky, head of the Department of Software Engineering of Ternopil National Technical University named after Ivan Pulyui, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Mykhailo Petryk, and senior research fellow of the Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics named after Ya.S. Pidstryhach of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Roman Plyatskofor the series of publications "Highlighting Ivan Pulyui's contribution to world science and culture."

In the nomination "Best program about science (radio and/or television projects broadcast on radio, TV channels and/or internet broadcasting), popular science film", the winners were the deputy director for scientific work of the Institute of Market and Economic-Ecological Research of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Economic Sciences Oleksandr Laiko, head of the Department of Integration of Science, Education, and Business of the same Institute, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Oleh Rubel, and professor of the Department of Labor Economics and Management of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Economics and Management of the National University of Food Technologies, Doctor of Economic Sciences Ihor Halytsiafor the cycle of TV programs "Popularization of Economic Science and Practice in Mass Media."

The award in the nomination "Best scientific educational project of the year (museum, exhibition, festival projects, lecture series, scientific cafes, special (thematic) online projects, projects on social networks, podcasts, bloggers' projects, projects of other formats that engage the general public (adults, children and schoolchildren, students) in science achievements through public events)"for the project "Kharkiv Chemical Seminar" online and on social networks – was received by the author of the idea, founder and coordinator of this project, first deputy general director for scientific work of the Scientific and Technological Complex "Institute of Monocrystals" of the NAS of Ukraine, director of the Institute of Chemistry of Functional Materials of the Scientific and Technological Complex "Institute of Monocrystals" of the NAS of Ukraine, academician of the NAS of Ukraine Valentyn Chebanov, responsible for information support and project communications, assistant to the general director of the Scientific and Technological Complex "Institute of Monocrystals" of the NAS of Ukraine Larysa Serostanova, and editor of graphic content and coordinator of youth work of the "Kharkiv Chemical Seminar" project, junior research fellow of the A.B. Blank Department of Analytical Chemistry of the Scientific and Technological Complex "Institute of Monocrystals" of the NAS of Ukraine, PhD Margarita Chernyakova.

Having awarded the laureates, the President of the NAS of Ukraine, academician Anatoliy Zahorodniy, congratulated them on this honorable distinction and wished them further creative success.
