Summary: | Diagnostic diffuse-dynamical method of the combined thickness-deformation dependences of the dynamical-scattering integral-intensities (DSII) jumps near the absorption K-edge is developed. The diagnostics information power is in- creased essentially on the basis of goal-directed variations in the selectivity of sensitivity to the defects of different types by variation of the diffraction condi- tions at the deformation-thickness investigations of the DSII jumps. As a result, a problem of the multiparametric diagnostics for defects of several types is solved by this method

Summary: | Fundamentals of the authors-developed new generation crystallography, known as diffuse-dynamical multiparametric diffractometry (DDMD), are reviewed. M.V. Kovalchuk and V.G. Kon, in their classical paper "X-ray standing waves - a new method of studying the structure of crystals" (Vsp. Fiz. Nauk 149 69 (1986) [S0v. Phys. Vsp. 29 426 (1986)]) provided theoretical and experimental justification for applying the method of standing Bragg waves to deal crystals. The present paper discusses the results of extending the riwork to crystals with defects in which, n addit on to standing Bragg waves, standing diffuse waves arise. Wi th these present, the character of how defects influence the dynamic scattering pattern depends on the diffraction conditi ons, thus creating a new phenomenon, which man fests itself in a widely diverse diffuse-dynamical picture inherently impossi ble for kinematic scattering. This makes it possible, by ta lor ng di ffraction conditions, to modify the Bragg and diffuse wave fields (from traveling to standing) and hence to change the character in which the fields interact with the crystal, with the result that experiments can provide enough various scattering patterns for the problem of unique mult parametric diagnosis to be solved by processing the patterns collectively. Theoretical and experimental fundamentals of DDMD are discussed, as are the results of its practical application.

Summary: | The physics base and, as a result, the new combined method of X-ray acoustic non-destructive quantitative and the first multiparameteric diagnostics of several types of micro-defects in single crystals has been created. The theoretical model which developed for this purpose uses an open by the authors phenomenon of unique sensitivity to the characteristics of defects both the total integral intensity of the dynamical diffraction and the character of its dependences on the diffraction conditions, in particular, the dependence of the amplitude of ultrasonic vibrations. The sensitivity and informativity of these dependences are intensified significantly by purposeful combining of the measurements in a variety of other conditions of diffraction. Such a possibility is essentially absent in the kinematic scattering.

Summary: | Complex Fourier components of polarizability of the perfect yttrium iron garnet (YIG) Y3Fe5O12 crystal have been calculated for the set of reflections and two characteristic X-ray wavelengths. The dependencies of diffraction parameters of YIG single crystals on concentrations of antisite defects and vacancies have been investigated numerically.
The characteristics of microdefects in the single crystal YIG film on the gadolinium gallium garnet (GGG) Gd3Ga5O12 substrate have been determined by analyzing the measured rocking curves with using the formulas of the statistical dynamical theory of diffraction in imperfect crystals. The parameters of the strain profile in the transition layer of the investigated YIG/GGG film system and characteristics of structural defects in GGG substrate have been determined as well.

Summary: | The theoretical diffraction model for a crystalline multilayer system with inhomogeneous strain and randomly distributed defects has been created by using the statistical dynamical theory of x-ray diffraction in imperfect crystals. In the model, by using recurrence relations between coherent scattering amplitudes, the dynamical character of both coherent and diffuse scattering from defects has been taken into account in all layers of the system.
By means of high-resolution double-crystal diffractometer, the rocking curves (RCs) have been measured from single-crystalline yttrium-iron garnet films on gadolinium-gallium garnet substrate , which were implanted with different doses of F+ ions at energy 90 keV. Treatment of measured RCs by using the created theoretical model allowed for the determination of strain profile parameters and structural defect characteristics in both disturbed layer and bulk of the investigated samples.

Authors: | B.K. Ostafijchuk, I.P.Yaremij, S.I. Yaremij, V.D. Fedoriv, M.M. Umantsiv, U.O. Tomin, O.S. Skakunova
Summary: | The changes in the crystal structure of the subsurface layers of GGG single crystals implanted with Неions, which took place during four years, are studied, using the results of X-ray analysis. As found, the value of the max- imum relative deformation of subsurface layers for almost all doses of radia- tion is increasing during the first 38 months of investigation, and then it is decreasing. For the dose of 1016 сm2, the growth takes place during the whole
time interval of a study. The main types of defects formed in the subsurface layers of GGG single crystals after their implantation are determined, and the change of their parameters with time caused by the natural ageing is in- vestigated. The explanation of the causes of observed changes is presented.

Summary: | By the method of high-resolution X-ray diffractometry, the rocking curves (RCs) are measured from the gadolinium gallium garnet single crystals
Gd3Ga5O12, which were implanted with different doses of the 90 keV F
ions.
Analysis of the measured RCs is carried out by using the theoretical model of dynamical X-ray diffraction in crystals with inhomogeneous distribution of de- fects. Consequently, the parameters of strain profile and characteristics of structural defects in implanted layer and crystal bulk of the investigated samples are determined
