He was born on 30 (17 in the old style) August 1898 in Kamenets village of former Penza district. In 1923-1930 studied at the Faculty of Chemistry of Kiev Polytechnic Institute, which graduated with a qualification of engineer-technologist in the specialty Metallurgy. In the student years went to work at the Institute of Chemistry (modern IGNC). In 1936 received the degree of a candidate of chemical sciences without defense of the dissertation, and received a diploma in 1949 with the title of senior research fellow. In 1961 defended his doctoral dissertation. Worked until 1979 as a junior researcher, researcher and senior researcher, as well as a laboratory manager and consultant.
Has carried out successful experiments on intensification of processes of smelting of ferrous metals (steel, cast iron), using oxygen blast. The work has been implemented at the factories of the country, and has received world recognition. Investigated the processes of refining aluminum from melted chloride baths, aluminum and corrosion, electrolytic extraction of sodium arsenate and lead arsenate. Developed methods of electrolytic refining of aluminum, complex processing of polymetallic raw materials, production of high purity metals.
