Line of rotators for electron beam welding
Operation in a vacuum environment imposes a number of requirements for construction of the rotator and its servo-drive, in particular:
- application of brushless electric motors in the servo-drives, where they should be significantly more powerful due to missing convective cooling,
- hermetic sealing of reducers,
- absence traditional lubricating oils.
The Paton Electric Welding Institute developed the line of these rotators for a wide range of overall dimensions and weights of welded workpieces:
- with faceplate diameter 200…300mm, freight-carrying capacity up to 10 kg,
speed of rotation 0.42…8.4 rpm (Fig.1);
- with faceplate diameter 650…800mm, freight-carrying capacity up to 500 kg, speed of rotation 0.04…4 rpm;
- with faceplate diameter 1200…1350mm, freight-carrying capacity up to 1200 kg, speed of rotation 0.04…4 rpm;
- radial run-out of the faceplate ±0,05 mm;
- face run-out of the faceplate ±0,05 mm;
- positioning accuracy of the faceplate ±0,05 mm;
- execution of the rotators: with vertical, horizontal and inclined axes of rotation (Fig.2,4);
- servo-drives are controlled by CNC system
