Title: | New biocompatible polymer nanocomposites with encapsulated fluorescein |
Type of product: | Release of new product: material |
Description: | New methods for the controlled synthesis of novel nanocomposites (NC) containing fluorescein in the nucleus of particles, protected from leakage and the reaction functional membrane on the surface of nanocapsules have developed as a result of this work. The method is dispersion polymerization, combined with simultaneous fluorescein encapsulation, involving unsaturated surfactant as monomer and oligoperoxide oligoelectrolytes as low radical initiator and surfactant. Functional fluorescent nanocapsules with given size and size distribution were obtained. The unique structural characteristics of NC provide high stability and luminescence brightness of encapsulated fluorescein, and the presence of the reaction membrane allows covalently bind proteins that interact with the surface of cell membranes. The synthesized particles are promising for imaging biological objects, because they have the ability to bind to cell membranes. |
Technical advantages: | The advantages of the new products are: controlled size and distribution of nanocomposites, nature and function of polymer membranes. The synthesized particles are promising for imaging biological objects, because they have the ability to bind to cell membranes. |
The economic benefits: | There are no analogues of obtained nanocomposites in Ukraine and they exceed existing overseas counterparts due to the target surface functionalization, ensuring their use for various high-tech applications. |
