Title: | Bulk highly dense superconducting magnesium diboride-based materials and their products |
Type of product: | Release of new product: material |
Description: | The technology of synthesis of bulk superconducting nanostructural highly-dense magnesium diboride –based materials at high (2 GPa) and moderate (30 MPa) pressure has been developed allowing manufacturing of the materials with high connectivity, as well, as the MgB2-bsed products of cylindrical, rectangular or circular shapes up to 150-200 mm in diameter and up to 20-50 mm in height which demonstrate high critical current density (up to 106 A/cm2 at 20 K in magnetic fields of 0-1 T), upper critical magnetic field (up to 15 T at 22 K), field of irreversibility (up to 15 T at 19 K) and mechanical properties (working temperature 20-30 K). |
Technical advantages: | The technology allows obtaining relatively cheap products from magnesium diboride of necessary configurations and sizes suitable for practical use with whatever high functional characteristics due to formation of nanograined structure and nanosized pinning centers (oxygen and boron-enriched inclusions and /or nanolayers). |
