Summary: | Growth of Bacillus subtilis IMV B–7023 was studied under the presence of silicon dioxide and saponite cultivation in the medium. It was established that the adding of these materials into the medium affects significantly the bacteria growth activity. Efficiency and orientation of the process depends on the type of dispersed material and contents of phosphate in the cultivation medium. Thus, under the concentration of 0.6 g/l PO43- saponite stimulates the growth of bacteria but at a lower concentration (0.1 g/l PO43-) growth activity of microorganisms becomes lower. At the same time in the presence of silicon dioxide the stimulation of bacterial growth is observed at different concentrations of phosphate in the medium. It is shown that the present effect is not the result of the phosphate sorption on the surface of the investigated dispersed materials. The contact interaction of solid particles with bacterial cells was found.

093 Influence of Natural Minerals on Growth of Azotobacter vinelandii IMV B-7076 |
Authors: | A. Yu. Chobotarjov, A. S. Gordienko, І. К. Kurdish
Summary: | It was shown that the cultivation of Azotobacter vinelandii IMV В-7076 in the presence of natural minerals
significantly increased the growth of bacteria activity. Adding in the medium glauconite and saponite in optimal concentration (10 g/l) conditioned the increase of cell growth six and four times compared with control, accordingly. The maximum stimulating effect was observed when the concentration of phosphates was 5.0 g/l, herewith the number of viable cells increased 5 times. The presence of contact interaction of bacterial cells with investigated particles minerals was shown.

093 Growth Peculiarities of BACILLUS SUBTILIS and Streptomycin Resistant mutant in a Medium with Saponite |
Authors: | A.Yu. Chobotarov, A. S. Gordienko, I. K. Kurdish
Summary: | The influence of dispersed saponite on growth activity of Bacillus subtilis IMV B-7023 and its streptomycin resistant mutant has been shown. The effectiveness of this process depends on the content of dispersed material, and phosphate in the medium. It has been found that when B. subtilis is cultured in the medium containing 0.6 g/l РО43- stimulation of bacteria growth is observed, but at lower concentration (0.1 g/l РО43-) there is a decline in the culture growth activity. At the same time streptomycin resistant mutant is shown to increase growth activity in the growth medium, which contains up to 1.0 g/l saponite, regardless of the concentration of phosphate. It is shown that this effect is a consequence of uniformity of surface properties of streptomycin resistant strain of bacteria and similar parent strain at a concentration of 0.6 g/l РО43-.
