Basic scientific directions

Development and creation of information systems and technologies of collection, transfer, storage, exchange, analysis and propagation among the users of oceanologic data;
Development and creation of complex specialized computer bases and banks of the oceanographic data and knowledge, models of the diagnosis and forecast, state of marine environment, database management systems and knowledge;
Development and creation of complex and specialized computer atlases of a marine environment state and analysis on their basis of global changes of parameters of a marine environment conditioned both by anthropogenic effect and natural climatic variability;
Investigation of problems for creation of long-live drifter network in the Black Sea for the reasons of operational oceanography and hydrometeorology
