Specialized Scientific Councils
The Marine Hydrophysical Institute Specialized Scientific
Councils has the right from the Supreme Attestation Board of Ukraine
to accept Ph.D. and Doctoral dissertations for defence in
specialties:
physical and mathematical sciences;
geographical sciences,
in the fields of oceanology, geophysics (physics of the sea).
The Marine Hydrophysical Institute Post-Graduate course has
next specialties:
oceanology;
geophysics;
information systems and data-acquisition systems.
The Marine Hydrophysical Institute Doctorate course has
next specialties:
oceanology;
geophysics.
The Marine Hydrophysical Institute is the base for the Commission
on World Ocean Problems of the National Academy of Science of
Ukraine. Its major task is co-ordination
of the fundamental research in the fields of marine sciences.
It is led by the Academician of the National Academy of Science
of Ukraine Valery Eremeev.
The Commission comprises of four sections:
Physical and Chemical oceanography (head: Academician of NASU
Valery Eremeev);
Hydro-biology and Ecology (head: corresponded member of NASU
Victor Zaika);
Marine Geology and Geophysics (head: Prof. A. Mitropolsky);
Marine Information Systems and Technologies (head: Prof. V.
Kushnir).
