Scientific-educational centers and the center of master's
degree preparation
Long-term cooperation between the department of technical
cybernetics of the Sevastopol National Technical University and the
Marine Hydrophysical Institute permitted to elaborate in 2005 the
Thesis on the scientific-educational Center of ecological device
construction (SECEDC) of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The center is
created as a joint research and educational complex of the Marine
Hydrophysical Institute and the Sevastopol National Technical
University with the purpose to unite the efforts, resources and
specializations and to carry out the researches and developments in
the field of ecological device construction, preparation and
retraining of the specialists in this sphere.
In 2005 the Marine Hydrophysical Institute elaborated the Thesis
on the scientific-educational Center of geoecology, oceanology and
rational nature management (CGORM) of the National Academy of
Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of education and science of
Ukraine based on the joint work of the Marine Hydrophysical
Institute and the departments of oceanology (Odessa State Ecological
University), ocean geography, geoecology and nature management
(Black Sea branch of Moscow State University). The Thesis implies
creation of CGORM as a joint research and educational complex that
unites the efforts, resources and specializations to carry out
researches and developments in the field of geoecology, marine
sciences and technologies, and rational nature management. On the
basis of the Center it is planned to prepare and retrain the
specialists in the scientific directions of Marine Hydrophysical
Institute and Ministry of education and science of Ukraine.
The Center performs preparation of master's degrees in the
following specialties
8.070601 - Meteorology;
8.070602 - Hydrology and hydrochemistry;
8.070603 - Oceanology;
8.070605 - Hydrography;
8.070801 - Ecology and protection of environment.
According to the Thesis, Marine Hydrophysical Institute
- helps to staff the Center with its leading scientists;
- according to its technical facilities, provides an opportunity to
use the institute infrastructure including the Experimental
Department of Marine Hydrophysical Institute in Katsiveli;
- promotes creative groups of scientists in publishing scientific
and manual literature.
