90Sr content in the Black Sea bottom sediments after the
Chernobyl NPP accident and its use as a radiotracer for estimating

ABSTRACT: On the basis of monitoring researches the maps of 90Sr

since1986 (Chernobyl NPP accident) up to 2000 are composed.
Distribution of 90Sr radionuclide in the bottom sediment
columns selected from the Corukh river mouth region and from the
Dnieper-Bug estuary area is investigated. The peaks of 90Sr
increased content are founded in the profile of its vertical
distribution in the bottom sediments. These peaks correspond to the
periods of 90Sr radioactive fallouts connected with
nuclear weapon tests in the environments as well as to the
radioactive pollution of water ecosystems after the Chernobyl NPP
accident. The obtained results permit to add the dating on 90Sr
to the 137Cs method on estimation of the Black Sea bottom
sediment accumulation rate earlier developed in RChBD (Radiation and
Chemical Biology Department).
State of
coenopopulation of cystoseira on some parts of the Crimean
coast with different anthropogenous loading. (A. V. Prazukin , S . A . Kovardakov
)
ABSTRACT: Researches show that Cystoseira crinita (Desf.) Bory
has large adaptive and restoration potential. At rather strong
anthropogenous influence, at the values of nitrogen concentration in
the plants close to 35,5 mg N ă-1 (dry weight)
Cystoseira crinita is capable to realize completely its adaptive
potential. At nitrogen concentration in the plants exceeding the
above mentioned values, the structure of Cystoseira crinita
population negatively changes: the aggregate number of plants
reduces strongly, the age row considerably decreases and its general
biomass significantly diminishes. After elimination of
anthropogenous influence the Cystoseira crinita population
can be completely restored during subsequent 15 - 20 years.

in the range from 10-4 to 1014 cm3
) and concentration of dry substance in it ( CW = WDRY
/VĂ, mg/cm3 ) are discussed. The relation is
described by the equation: logCW = 11,191 – 0,521 logVĂ,
n = 726, R2 = 0,88. In the ńoordinates VĂ and
CW bioinert phytosystems settle down discretely - by
“layers”. Each type of the systems has its characteristic limits of
changes of CW.
