Set up on December 2, 1997.
Basic lines of its research, educational and science-management activities are:
- educational work towards training bachelors and masters in systems analysis, information science and computer sciences;
- training highly qualified research personnel (candidates and doctors of sciences);
- developing the methodology of systems analysis, mathematical methods and software products for integral analysis, technological forecasts and prognostication in socio-economic, ecological&economic and technological spheres of Ukraine;
- developing the theory of nonlinear and multivalued analysis, nonlinear differential-operator equations, inclusions and variation inequalities, methods of infinite-dimensional analysis, optimization theory and methods, games theory, systems mathematics;
- studies in the field of systems analysis, technological prognostication and scenario analysis, global modelling of sustainable development processes, simulation of complex systems under conditions of uncertainty and risks, systems design;
- developing and implementing information technologies for addressing large-scale interdisciplinary tasks in economy and social economy, credit and financel sphere; analyzing global changes and determining environment protection measures; mathematical modelling of complex physical processes and fields;
- developing new methods of statistical and econometric analysis of financial and economic processes dynamics; prognostication of nonlinear nonstationary processes;
- producing software-hardware complexes on the basis of advanced computer and program systems, including Internet, to solve problems of applied systems analysis;
- fundamental and applied research into top-priority R&D issues, to deal with national economy problems in close connection with education process;
- maintaining broad international ties in education and science.
Major achievements and projects:
Investigations in nonlinear and multivalued analysis, nonlinear differential operator equations, insertions and variation inequalities have been conducted, alongside with the development of optimization theory and methods, and game theory. Systemic studies of the system-approved control, assessment and prognoses of the risk levels and the resource of permissible risks in abnormal, critical situations and emergencies have also been carried out.
In applied studies based on systemic methodology, results have been obtained on global modeling of sustainable development processes in the context of human life quality and safety; global threats to sustainable development have been analyzed as well. Instruments for technological foresight and scenario analysis in the form of information platform consisting of mathematic, program, logical and organization tools have been developed. Practical application of these instruments has been used in building an alternative scenario of space research in Ukraine, for choosing options of Kyiv infrastructure development.
