Established on October 31, 1990.
Its main research area is:
- development of scientific fundamentals and principles for creative cooperation between research institutions and local government bodies at the regional level;
- improvement and implementation of scientific and organizational mechanisms for the optimal use of Ukraine’s research potential in the development and implementation of efficient regional R&D and innovation policy.
Principal research achievements and developments:
- the Program of cooperation between NAS and the city of Kyiv for 2001–2007;
- systemic research under the projects of International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in 2006–2008.
