Set up on July 7, 2004.

Its main lines of research are:

- studying, preserving and renewing the biodiversity of Kyiv green zone;

- detecting species that can serve as bioindicators of the status of megalopolis ground-based and water-based biocoenoses;

- developing and implementing scientific fundamentals of monitoring ecosystems in megalopolis nature-reserve territories and ways to optimize their functioning.

Principal achievements and developments:

- procedural approaches to assessing the diversity of green zone territories and employing geoinformation technologies in megalopolis ecomonitoring have been developed;

- integrated studies of biota in Theofania tract ecosystems have been carried out;

- the degree of arboreal plantations damage via the level of anthropogenic impact has been determined in the city of Kyiv.
