Founded on January 1, 1992.
Main research areas of the Institute are:
- structure and values of world civilizations; civilizational dimensions of globalization processes;
- financial globalization and financial component of world economic processes; peculiarities of forming nations’ export potential in the context of current globalization processes;
- sustainable development under globalization; foreign-policy aspects of implementing economic reforms and transition to stable development in Euro-Atlantic region; conceptual fundamentals of and world experience in meeting national interests by means of foreign-policy and diplomacy;
- main trends of easrward enlargement of the European Union; consequencies of Ukraine joining WTO; the effect of European integration processes on the socio-economic progress of Ukraine;
- developing patterns and prospects of African, Near- and Middle-East countries in the context of their evolutional transformation and aggravation of their socio-economic problems; integration and regionalization processes in Asian-Pacific countries.

The Institute of World Economy and International Relations is interested in developing academic ties and invites domestic and foreign research institutions and individual experts in international economics and politics to collaboration.
